Lifestyle is basically the attitudes, interests, behaviors, and cultural orientations of a person, group, or society. The word was first introduced by Austrian psychiatrist Alfred Adler in his classic article, The Case of Miss R. in 1930. The word “lifestyle” was later adopted by the sociologist Emile Zola in his book Lifestyle and Labelle Minko in the same year.

There is a big difference between unhealthy lifestyles and healthy lifestyles. An unhealthy lifestyle is characterized by excess weight, smoking, drinking, overexercising, high cholesterol, heart disease, cancer and other diseases. On the other hand, an unhealthy life style is characterized by underweight, overweight, sedentary, using tobacco or alcohol, and doing physically harmful activities such as overstressing and obesity. This type of life style increases the risks for many kinds of diseases, which include cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.

The advantages of a healthy lifestyle are increased socialization, less mental stress, greater quality of life, and enhanced self esteem and overall happiness. On the other hand, the major disadvantages of a bad lifestyle are unhealthy eating habits, lack of exercise, psychological disorders, and unhealthy relationships. Most people consider these disadvantages of unhealthy living as disadvantages to be endured rather than advantages to be enjoyed. This is why it is important to change your lifestyle if you want to avoid getting sick or even dying sooner.

To adopt a healthy lifestyle, you need to start slowly by adopting changes gradually, such as giving up vices, changing your diet, getting active, and starting a family. Adopting an active lifestyle means having a regular physical activity that is planned and regular and involves the whole family. This kind of lifestyle is recommended for people at all ages, from kids to senior citizens, because physical activities are good for the body, mind, and spirit. Furthermore, if a person wants to live a healthy lifestyle, he must avoid smoking and alcohol at any cost.

The idea of having a healthy lifestyle has to be balanced in other aspects as well. The idea of having a balanced life means having a balance of work, family, and leisure time. For a long period of time, a person can keep his lifestyle balanced by making some small changes and adjustments to his lifestyle. This will not only make him healthier, but will also make him happier and less stressed.

In conclusion, unhealthy and unbalanced lifestyles lead to ill health, emotional problems, and stress. These lifestyle factors can affect a person’s entire family and his daily routine. Thus, it is important to choose healthy and active lifestyles and adopt them for a longer and better life. Living a healthy life is a lifestyle that you should adopt on a permanent basis. It is not something you can do for a few days and then forget about. Changing your lifestyle and adopting healthy habits is not an overnight thing; it takes some effort and time to achieve.
